High school senior near Seattle, headed toward engineering. Most of my time goes to FIRST Robotics — designing and building competition machines that have to actually work, and helping lead the team behind them.
I'm a rising senior at Shorewood High School heading into engineering, and robotics is where most of that started. As co-captain and design lead for FIRST Robotics Team 359, I lead the design side — driving the CAD and mechanical work that turns rough sketches into a real machine that has to survive a full competition season. I work with the team remotely, so a big part of the job is keeping a crew organized and the build on schedule from a few time zones away.
What pulls me toward engineering is the same thing I like about robotics: the moment a design stops being a drawing and becomes something physical that either works or doesn't. I'd rather build and test an idea than just talk about it, and I'm usually the person who stays with a project until it's actually finished and running.
Open to engineering programs, internships, and build projects of just about any kind.
